Landsberg, Colatrella Carry On China Program
July 23, 2010
Professors Brian Landsberg and Michael Colatrella will travel to Chengdu, China this week to direct training on experiential legal education from July 26 to August 2 in Chengdu, China.
The week-long workshop is a continuation of the now multi-million grant program first begun in October 2006 under the USAID's Rule of Law in China Initiative. Pacific McGeorge is the leader of a four-school consortium whose mission is to bolster practical legal skills training in Chinese law schools.
This summer's Phase II program follows a December 2009 workshop in Wuhan, China. Landsberg and Colatrella will be joined by professors from American University, Villanova University Law School and Chinese law schools involved in the Phase I program.
The same trainees from the Wuhan workshop will attend the second workshop in Chengdu. They include six professors from each of the following Phase II partner schools in China: Central China University of Science and Technology, North University of Nationalities, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Wuhan University.
Third-year Pacific McGeorge student Jocelyn Blinn, who is serving an internship with a law firm in Guangzhou, will serve as site coordinator.
