Justice Ronald B. Robie, '67, Receives National Award for Distinguished Service

Justice Ronald B. Robie, '67, the longest-serving adjunct professor at McGeorge, will receive the National Center for State Courts’ Distinguished Service Award in June 2014.
Robie has taught water law courses and Environmental Law at McGeorge since 1970 when he was a member of the California State Water Resources Board. While a student at McGeorge in the 1960s, he had drafted significant legislation as a consultant to the Assembly Committee on Water. He later became the director of the state Department of Water Resources.
Robie has served on the Court of Appeal since January 2002. He had been a judge of both the Superior and Municipal Courts of Sacramento County since 1983 and was presiding judge of the Superior Court in 1994–1995. He was named Judge of the Year by the Sacramento County Bar Association in 2002 and was a recipient of the Judicial Council of California's highest honor for a state jurist in 2011.
