Catherine Mattesich, '10, was selected as one of the University of the Pacific's Global Ambassadors Corps Program members, and she is serving her internship this fall in Switzerland.

Mattesich's interest in international law and social entrepreneurship helped her secure the fellowship last spring from a strong pool of University-wide candidates. She is one of only two McGeorge students to be accorded the honor, the other being Dr. Xin Zhou, '12.

At Pacific McGeorge, Mattesich participated in the on-campus Civil Practice Clinic, helping low-income Sacramento residents facing a number of legal civil issues, including inter-country adoption. A Moot Court Honors Board member who focused on international law during her final year, she was a standout member of the law school's Pace International Criminal Court Moot Court and Niagara International Moot competition teams.

Armed with those credentials, Mattesich was an easy selection for an Ambassador Corps Fellowship. She landed an interview at International Bridges to Justice, a growing NGO, which has a number of field offices throughout the world, including China, India, and Africa. Mattesich studied abroad in Lyon, France and is fluent in French, the diplomatic language, so her posting to IBJ's Geneva headquarters is ideal.
