Hanni Fakhoury and David Nitka teamed up to win the Roger J. Traynor California Moot Court Competition on April 14 in Berkeley.

The McGeorge entry beat out 12 other law schools at the event, which was sponsored by the Witkin Legal Institute and Thomson-West. McGeorge received the top award based on winning the best overall brief award and finishing second in the oral competition. It was also the only team to have both team members recognized as top oralists. Among other schools that participated in the competition were UC Berkeley, USC, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Hastings, USF, Chapman and Thomas Jefferson. Professor Ed Telfeyan coached the local entry.
