Summary Bio

After graduating from Pacific McGeorge, Jim went straight to work for Downey Brand LLP, where he became a partner in 1978, and served as Managing Partner for nine years. He left that firm with his oil, gas and energy practice group in 2006 to become a founding partner of Day Carter & Murphy LLP, a boutique firm practicing oil and gas and energy law. Jim represents a significant number of oil and gas companies active in California and elsewhere. Jim attended UCLA for his undergraduate degree, where he played water polo and rowed.
