Summary Bio

Hector is an attorney (Mexican Jurisdiction) registered as a Foreign Legal Consultant before the State Bar of California; he is currently practicing Mexican and international law, based in Sacramento, California. Hector is the founder and owner of de Avila Law Firm; and he has been of counsel of several law firms in California. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and attended the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, where he earned his LL.B. degree. He then attended Skyline College and Sacramento City College, eventually obtaining his LL.M. degree in Transnational Business Practice from Pacific McGeorge; he also obtained a certificate degree in Migration and Governance from CIDE a think tank institution located in Mexico City. Hector is fluent in Spanish and English, and has participated in several cases as expert witness in regard to Mexican and international law, cultural and language matters before local and federal courts. Hector lectured International Law and International Commercial Law at the University of Phoenix as part of the Spanish MBA on-line program. He currently teaches Legal Spanish for U.S. Lawyers at Pacific McGeorge.
