Summary Bio
Hector is an attorney (Mexican Jurisdiction) registered as a Foreign Legal Consultant before the State Bar of California; he is currently practicing Mexican and international law, based in Sacramento, California. In May 2013 he joined the law firm of Carter, Wolden, and Curtis, LLP as of counsel. Hector founded De Avila Law Firm in February 2006, and operated it until April 2013. He was born in Guadalajara, Mexico and attended the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, where he earned his LL.B. degree. He then attended Skyline College and Sacramento City College, eventually obtaining his LL.M. degree in Transnational Business Practice from Pacific McGeorge; he also obtained a certificate degree in Migration and Governance from CIDE a think-thank institution located in Mexico City. Hector is fluent in Spanish and English, and member of the American Translators Association. Hector lectured International Law and International Commercial Law at the University of Phoenix as part of the Spanish MBA on-line program. He currently teaches Legal Spanish for U.S. Lawyers at Pacific McGeorge.
