Legal Concentration in Water & the Environment

Water and environmental issues are both top societal concerns and are critical in policy development and government regulation across the state, nation and world. Today’s environmental professionals need cutting-edge approaches to manage these diverse issues for businesses and developers, agricultural enterprises, non-profit organizations, local and state governments, and policy makers at every level. The McGeorge Master of Science in Law (M.S.L.) degree is a flexible program designed for professionals working in water and natural resources fields who seek the benefits of advanced legal training but who do not require the J.D. degree for their career plans.

Many of California’s most influential water law attorneys began their careers at McGeorge. Our M.S.L. program builds on this legacy and can provide our students with a comprehensive understanding of legal issues in and around water and the environment while helping them build a professional network.

"I know that professionals dealing with environmental issues benefit from opportunities to enhance their legal understanding." Rachael Salcido, Professor at McGeorge specializing in environment and natural resources law, and former practitioner
