October 20 - 22, 2011
ASCL Annual Meeting
In conjunction with the 2011 Annual Meeting of the American Society of Comparative Law, the McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific and the McGeorge Global Center for Business & Development conducted a workshop on identifying and achieving the objectives of the comparative law curriculum. This workshop created a unique opportunity for professors who teach comparative law to engage in a facilitated discussion probing the place of comparative law in the contemporary curriculum.
This workshop included sessions exploring the core comparative law course today, comparative law in subject and nation-specific contexts and comparative law in cultural and interdisciplinary context. In addition, there were panels dealing with hot topics in comparative law and presenting works-in-progress from young comparative law scholars.
