About the Lecture
The Capital Center Lecture Series Presents "Water & Sustainability," sponsored by the Witkin Legal Institute.
Dr. Peter Gleick will share his insight into the problem of supplying clean affordable water to an ever growing population. There are many competing interests all vying for their share of California’s limited water resources, and often the more powerful interests can drown out the individual. The Keynote Address will discuss how water pricing, human rights, and an international perspective can help us provide water for a population that is anticipated to reach 50 million.
Dr. Gleick is renowned the world over as a leading expert, innovator, and communicator on water and climate issues. He is the author of many scientific papers and nine books, including the influential series The World’s Water and Bottled and Sold: The Story Behind Our Obsession with Bottled Water, as well as the newly released A Twenty-First Century U.S. Water Policy.
The keynote is sponsored by the Witkin Legal Institute.
