On July 25th selected faculty from Phase I schools met in Qingdao, China to plan for the training workshops scheduled for 2009-10.
Phase I participants were:
Xu Shenjian, Dong Jingbo, Li Chao and Yu Guodan, CUPL
Luo Wenyan, Liu Jianming, Hu Minfei, and Mao Xiaoxiao, ZGU
Teng Hongqing, SCUT
Elliott Milstein and Bob Dinerstein, American University
Brian Landsberg, Jay Leach, and Jarrod Wong, Pacific McGeorge
Han Guijun from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law participated on behalf of the Committee of Chinese Clinical Educators (CCCLE) throughout the planning session. Chen Jianmin from Tsinghua University and Secretary-General of CCCLE, spoke to the planning session.
Representatives of three law schools, interested in participating in Phase II of our program also attended the training:
Cao Haijing and Chen Zugang, Huazhong University of Science and Technology
Jiang Bo, Southwestern University of Finance and Economics
Zeng Wenge, Chungqing University Law School
Dean Gao Jinkang from Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and Dean Chen Zhonglin from Chungqing University Law School also attended.
The session consisted in part of explanations and demonstrations of our program on experiential learning for the guests, but primarily of planning for future workshops. We developed curricula for the two day workshop to be held at the CCCLE conference in Harbin and for a five day workshop planned for December 2009. Phase I faculty from Chinese law schools will do a substantial part of the training, in keeping with the train the trainers goals of the grant.
