A delegation of ten Chinese Law Professors from the Phase II Participating schools recently visited Pacific McGeorge for an observational training and study tour of experiential legal education. Another professor from China University of Political Science and Law, a Phase I Partner school, also joined the delegation.
The participants attended presentations and discussion sessions on experiential legal education. They spent time observing Pacific McGeorge clinical classes, simulation classes, and doctrinal classes in which experiential legal education techniques were used. They discussed the classes with our professors and engaged in thorough reflection of what was observed.
They also visited Stanford Law School where they met with Pamela Phan - Lecturer and specialist in Chinese clinical education, and directors of Stanford clinics as well as law students currently enrolled in clinical courses.
At the end of the trip, the delegation visited the Robert T. Matsui Federal Courthouse where they observed hearings in Judge John A. Mendez's courtroom, then met and observed an emergency restraining order hearing with Judge Morrison C. England Jr.
