You can also work on legislative initiatives in the intellectual property area through Pacific McGeorge's Capital Center for Public Law & Policy or intern with a government agency that deals with intellectual property issues.
Due to its location in California's capital, Pacific McGeorge offers an extensive list of internships in a variety of legal fields. Possible internships in intellectual property law include:
- The Jet Propulsion Laboratory
- the California Secretary of State's Office
- California Lawyers for the Arts
- various law enforcement authorities, including the California Attorney General's Office

The Intellectual Property Student Association (IPSA) is a student-run organization committed to meeting the educational and social needs of students interested in intellectual property law. Among other things, it acts to promote interaction between IPSA members and attorneys and companies involved with intellectual property issues. You can also volunteer to participate in the many writing competitions and moot court competitions sponsored by a variety of intellectual property organizations and educational institutions.
