Summer Program in St. Petersburg, Russia

Pacific McGeorge is a sponsoring school for the 2012 summer program in St. Petersburg, Russia, the City of White Nights, to be held under the auspices of the University of Arkansas School of Law. This program is ABA approved and has run every summer continuously since 1995. Pacific McGeorge students in good standing do not need any special approval to
enroll in this program.
Students will have the option to earn up to five units of semester credit during the month-long program. Classes will be scheduled in the mornings four days a week, along with weekend and afternoon excursions to legal and cultural institutions around St. Petersburg and nearby locations. Russian law students will also participate in the program and will add their own cultural and social perspectives to the classroom.
Program faculty will include Professor Anne Bloom from Pacific McGeorge teaching a course on Global Issues in Tort Law. The names of other courses and professors, including courses taught by Russian law professors from St. Petersburg State University and Novgorod State University, appear on the University of Arkansas program web pages.
Applications for this program should be submitted directly to the University of Arkansas by March 15, 2012.
Tuition for the program will include housing, social and cultural activities in St. Petersburg. Tuition for 5 semester units in 2012 is expected to be between $4,200 - $4,800.
St. Petersburg was founded by Peter the Great in 1703, and it is one of the world's most splendid cities. It is home to some of the world's great art museums, including the Hermitage; the Kirov Ballet, where Pavlova, Nijinski and Baryshnikov danced; and venues where top classical, operatic and popular musicians and singers perform.
