Admission, Tuition and Fees, Lodging, Travel, and Policies
Admission/Registration
The Salzburg summer program is open to graduates and students of ABA-approved or state accredited law schools and fully accredited foreign law schools who have completed one year of full-time or part-time study and who are in good standing at their respective schools. Prior study in the areas covered by each course may be helpful, but is not required.
Participation in a foreign summer program may not meet requirements to accelerate graduation. Students should consult their home institutions for advice about residency requirements under relevant ABA standards if they are interested in acceleration.
To apply and register for classes, complete the Online Registration, then print and sign the signature page, and return it with:

Applications will be considered on a continuing basis until the final tuition deadline, four weeks prior to commencement of the summer program: June 4, 2010. However, in the event that the program is filled before the application deadline, applications arriving after that time will be placed on a waiting list, with additional students being admitted in the order that the applications were received if and when any cancellations are made by students previously admitted.

Tuition deposits are due with submission of the Application/Registration form or online registration. Tuition payments are due in full in Sacramento one month prior to commencement of the Institute: June 4, 2010.
Refund Policy: The tuition deposit of $250 is applied to tuition if admitted or is refunded if enrollment is denied. The tuition deposit is fully refundable if participation is cancelled prior to June 4, 2010. Thereafter, the registration fee will be forfeited if the applicant fails to attend for any reason. Failure to meet the tuition payment deadline specified results in automatic forfeiture of place in the program and tuition deposit. If a student withdraws from enrollment prior to commencement of the program in which he or she is enrolled and after payment of full tuition by the date specified, the student shall be refunded an amount equal to full tuition and fees paid less $250.
Financial Aid: Important - If you expect to have funds from the financial aid office in Sacramento deposited to your bank account after you arrive in Salzburg, be sure to bring enough money to tide you over for several days. The Pacific McGeorge office in Salzburg cannot cash personal checks drawn on a U.S. bank. Pacific McGeorge students should discuss availability of Financial Aid with the school's Financial Aid Office.
Pacific McGeorge reserves the right to make changes in course offerings, professors, class schedules, housing, and other matters as circumstances require. In the event of a cancellation because of insufficient enrollment, sudden unavailability of facilities, or any other unforeseen circumstances, Pacific McGeorge will immediately send notice of cancellation to all registered students and refund all fees paid to the school as of the date of cancellation. There has never been a cancellation of the Salzburg summer program.

Passports/Visas
A passport is a document issued by your government allowing you to travel abroad. A visa is a permit issued by the government you are planning to visit allowing you to enter that country. Passports and visas are the responsibility of the student.
United States citizens can obtain a passport application from the nearest
U.S. Department of State Passport Office or from certain State and Federal courts and post offices. If you lose your passport while in Austria, contact the
nearest U.S. embassy immediately.
United States students and citizens of EU and
Schengen countries do not need a visa to enter Austria.
To avoid any delay in obtaining your visa or passport, be sure to apply as early as possible. See the
latest information from the U.S. State Dept. about travel to Austria.
Travel Medical Insurance
Although travel medical insurance is not required to participate in the Salzburg program, students should check their medical insurance plans to see if coverage extends while away from home. If your plan does not cover illness or emergencies while traveling outside of your country, you are strongly encouraged to purchase temporary medical insurance for non-emergency and emergency medical expenses, including coverage for emergency air transportation, which is usually quite costly. To request more information about student medical insurance policies, contact
Graduate and International Programs.
Accommodations and Other Policies
Every effort is made to accommodate persons with physical, medical and/or learning disabilities; however, Pacific McGeorge cannot ensure that the housing and classroom facilities used in the Salzburg summer program will meet the same standards for accessibility as do the facilities of the school's campus in Sacramento. Persons with disabilities that affect mobility should particularly note that historic European cities such as Salzburg present significant barriers to mobility over which Pacific McGeorge has no control.
