2011 Diversity Week
In celebration of all forms of diversity on the Pacific McGeorge campus, Pacific McGeorge hosted its annual student-organized week of exciting diversity-related events from April 9 to April 16. This fantastic week of programming featured both social and educational events hosted by different Pacific McGeorge student groups.
Annual Pacific McGeorge Minority Bar Mixer
On April 12, 2011, as part of Diversity Week, McGeorge students, alumni, and staff attended the Annual Minority Bar Mixer held at the Sacramento Office of Downey Brand LLP. This event allowed students and alumni to network and show support for diversity-related issues.
BLSA hosted its Second Annual Family Day
We are excited to announce the Black Law Students’ Association’s Second Annual Family Day. The event was a success with current students, alumni, faculty and administrators and their families. We look forward to repeating this tradition again next year!
Fourth Annual Diversity Dinner
On April 16, 2011, as part of Diversity Week, Pacific McGeorge hosted the Fourth Annual Diversity Dinner at the historic Delta King in Old Town Sacramento. This dinner was the culmination of Diversity Week, a full week of diversity-related programming and celebration organized by Pacific McGeorge students.
Pacific McGeorge congratulates the 2011 SCBA Diversity Fellowship Recipients
On behalf of Dean Parker and the Career Development Office, we would like to congratulate the seven Pacific McGeorge students who were selected for the very prestigious and extremely competitive Sacramento County Bar Association Diversity Fellowship. The Diversity Fellowship program provides local minority and disadvantaged students an opportunity to spend the summer working at various prestigious Sacramento private law firms. This is a fantastic achievement for these exemplary students!
BALRA 1L Diversity Speed Networking Event
On March 30, 2011, 12 first-year Pacific McGeorge students participated in the Bay Area Legal Recruitment Association Inaugural Diversity Speed Networking Event and Reception. During this event, students participated in “speed networking” with Bay Area attorneys and had a chance to network with attorneys and recruiters from prestigious Bay Area law firms.
LSAC’s Discover Law comes to Pacific McGeorge
On March 11, 2011, Pacific McGeorge welcomed students from Burbank and Florin High Schools and other schools in the Sacramento area in observance of the Law School Admissions Council’s exciting Discover Law event. High school students attended a mock class taught by law students and listened to a panel presentation given by recent alumni.
Celebración de la Cultura
On March 5, 2011, the Pacific McGeorge Latino/a Law Student Association presented Celebración de la Cultura, an evening of dinner, entertainment, dancing, and music! The featured keynote speaker for the event was former California Supreme Court Justice Cruz Reynoso.
Annual Diversity Welcome Reception
On Aug. 28, 2010, Pacific McGeorge hosted its Annual Diversity Welcome Reception to welcome incoming first year law students identified as diverse. The reception included welcome remarks from Dean Elizabeth Parker and an introduction to minority student organizations on campus.

BLSA hosted its First Family Day
We are excited to announce the Black Law Students' Association's first Family Day. Participants gathered on the Pacific McGeorge Quad to enjoy music, games, prizes, and more! The event was a success with current students, alum, faculty, and administrators and their families. We look forward to this new yearly tradition!

On Saturday, April 24, 2010, the law school welcomed For People of Color Inc. a non-profit organization committed to increasing the law school pipeline targetting underrepresented minorities.
McGeorge Lambda Signs Amicus Brief in Christian Legal Society v. Martinez
The National LGBT Bar Association and its Law Student Division teamed up with 55 LGBT law student groups at our nation's top law schools to file an amicus brief.
Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom Honors McGeorge Lambda Law Students Association
BALIF (Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom) has selected the McGeorge Lambda Law Students Association for the 2010 BALIF Law Student Association of the Year Award - this is the first time McGeorge Lambda has ever been selected for this honor!
