Access to Campus Facilities
The Public Safety Department and the Buildings and Grounds Department share responsibility for locking and unlocking of all campus facilities. Campus facilities will be secured in accordance with established procedures while routine janitorial services are performed during the night hours. No facilities will be unlocked by either department without proper authority.
The Public Safety Department has the final responsibility for securing all facilities at the close of business each day and during holiday or seasonal days off. Doors to student housing facilities are locked and can only be accessed by residents with keys. Public Safety Officers check all areas regularly throughout the hours of darkness.
Student Housing Facilities:
Student housing leases detail the procedures for accessing individual housing units on campus by Public Safety/Buildings and Grounds personnel for emergencies, general maintenance, and other purposes. Questions or concerns in these matters should be directed to the Housing Manager at: 916.739.7119. The Housing Office is located in the Administration Building, Room 127 at 3282 Fifth Avenue.
Lock out: During normal business hours, students residing in campus housing who need entry assistance to their apartment after being locked out are to contact the Housing Office. After hours, residents must contact a Public Safety at: 916.739.7200 .
