Aimee Martin

Aimee MartinAimee Martin is currently a second year evening student. She grew up in Clayton, California, in the East Bay. She received a Bachelor's Degree in history from UC Berkeley. While at Cal, Aimee played for the women's rugby team. Before attending McGeorge and during her first year, Aimee worked at an urgent care pediatrics clinic and at The Container Store. She enjoyed both positions. Aimee has two dogs, Tonks and Granger. She considers playing with them a great break from studying.

Aimee remembers how nervous she was during her first year of law school; but over time the nervousness subsided, and she ended up loving her experiences during her first year. Aimee attended each of the Skills Hours sessions and credits them with helping her to succeed. Initially, Aimee struggled in a class but after working with the Academic Success center, she was able to refocus and succeed.

As a first year, Aimee excelled. Two professors chose her written exams as sample "best" answers, and she received the Witkin Award in Contracts. After midterms, students began to elicit Aimee's advice, and she was happy to help. Her advice to incoming first years is to simulate lots of practice exams. She also recommends that students attend Skills Hours and not be afraid to ask for help. Finally, as she reminds herself, getting an answer wrong during class is not the end of the world. Feel free to stop by just to say "hi" or for help!
