Internships are especially valuable in today’s difficult employment market because they give a student the chance to demonstrate interest in a particular field, to gain actual experience in that field, and to form relationships that may help the student. Our Career Development Office puts it this way: "An internship is a fourteen-week long opportunity to develop contacts in your chosen practice area. Internships may lead directly or indirectly to job offers, and at a minimum add significant value to your resume."
